Have you tried wearing Organic Clothes?
For years, I have been testing and using organic products. This “organic” obsession started after the kiddos were diagnosed with food allergies, asthma and eczema. From fresh food to canned items to cleaning products to skin care to make up… and the list goes on.
Just when I thought I’ve already tried everything organic, I came across a brand of clothing called prAna. A company that creates sustainable clothing and accessories.
I first got acquainted with this brand last summer. While my girls were shopping for gym clothes. The store that we went to had a nice collection of prAna’s line of athletic wear. Since it’s not my “shopping time”, I didn’t buy any. However, it was always in my bucket list.
Then a few weeks ago, I was contacted by Moms Meet to give prAna organic clothing brand a try. Talk about an answered prayer!
When I went to their website, I was thrilled to see that their line goes beyond sportswear. They have comfortable and fashionable clothes too. On top of that, I was able to learn about their mission to use organic cotton and hemp, recycled polyester and wool in their fabric and their commitment to do fair trade among their suppliers.
Check out this short clip and I’m sure you’ll also fall in love with their mission too.
The Review
Being the Frugalista that I am, I decided to pick two basic pieces that will work with what I already have in my closet.
Since it’s already Fall, I chose the Deedra Sweater Tunic in Auburn as my top.
For someone who’s really picky when it comes to sweaters, I was impressed with the quality of the the fabric of this sweater. It is soft with a nice weight to it. More importantly, it is not itchy at all.
Because I’m petite and only 5’1 (yes, I said it), I found this Tunic a big longer than I expected. Also, I should have gotten the XXS for a better fit. However, I liked the versatility of the design. I was able to tuck the front for a relaxed look. Also, I think it will be perfect as a “dress” for me. A belt with dark leggings and boots will look amazing too.
I’m a Jeans girl. With that, the bottom I chose is hands down the Kara Jeans.
The fabric of this pair of jeans is on the thinner side. Normally, depending on the brand, I’m somewhere between size 4 -8. (This mama got big hips and thighs.) Good thing, I trusted my instincts and went higher. Since the design is fitted, size 8 hugged my curves perfectly and comfortably.
Being a little over 5 foot, finding the right length of pants is often a challenge. This design solved that issue. The narrow leg can be worn both long and cuffed. The best part, it also comes in a short inseam!
