This year has been very interesting as many expos I’m supposed to go to were cancelled. Thank God our friends from Nourished Festival (previously known as GFAFExpo) took a huge step to make the event still available for us gluten free and food allergy folks.
Yes, the Nourished Festival went virtual last September 24, 25 and 26. There were over 275 exhibitors who offered giveaways and exclusive discounts. Plus, there are over 60 educational sessions from gluten free or allergy friendly cooking and baking to tips on boosting the immune system and more.
If you missed the event, you can watch these videos that featured some of the brands I discovered :

Of the products that we have tried here are the ones that stood out for us.

Sogosnacks
These are not only gluten free, the meat sticks are also top 8 allergen free. It comes in 10 flavors and you have a choice of beef, turkey, chicken or pork. No msg and nitrates too. This is a small family business located in Iowa.
Purpo by Beviva
This is another new product that came out this year. Made with purple sweet potato/purple yam or ube, this is naturally gluten free and top 8 allergen free too. The all in one cereal cup also includes powdered oat milk so all you need is to add water. Another small family business that is located in California.
Keli’s Sweet and Tangy Orange Sauce
This brand is actually straight from Hawaii. Three flavors contain soy (gluten free soy sauce) and the sweet and tangy orange sauce is top 8 allergen free. Not too thick, these sauces are perfect for dipping, marinating and on top of anything grilled, baked or pan fried. Full of flavor and not salty at all.
Love Corn Snacks
Another top 8 allergen free, this corn snack is pure love. Low in calories yet full of flavor, this satisfies any salty and crunchy craving without any guilt. Aside from the three flavors above, there’s also Sea Salt which is my all time favorite.
Josie’s GF Waffle Mix
The kids and I have a favorite waffle mix for years. Sadly, that company closed two years ago and since then we haven’t found a waffle mix that can complete with it. Until we tried Josie’s Best. This is one of the best waffle mixes we’ve tried. Light, airy and crunchy, many will not believe it’s top 8 allergen free.
Since there are so many products at this year’s Nourished Festival, I can’t help but make a separate list for the runner’s up.
Here’s the list of the runner’s up.
Do you have a favorite brand from the Nourished Festival that I missed? Let me know so that I can check them out too.
