With the temperatures reaching the 90’s here in New Jersey for the past weeks or more, I have to say, it is officially Summer! Since it is the season of cold treats, I was really excited when MomsMeet contacted me to try this new line from Santa Cruz Organic called Agua Fresca.
Reminiscent of the Aguas Fresca that have long been popular throughout Central America and the Caribbean, Santa Cruz Organic Agua Fresca are made by blending ingredients such as organic fruit juice and fruit juice concentrate, water, sugar and lemon juice. Available in three flavors – Pomegranate, Grapefruit and Mango Passionfruit, these lightly sweetened drinks are non-GMO verified and free of major allergens such as gluten/wheat, dairy, egg, soy, nuts, peanuts, shellfish and fish.
While water is still the king in our home, a nice flavored drink is always a nice treat to have especially on a hot day. I like that Santa Cruz Organic Agua Fresca are not only refreshing, they are a better and healthier alternative too. No artificial ingredients or additives. Plus it only has 60 calories per serving.
The kids love that these beverages are light and very refreshing. According to them, “It tastes like homemade juice.” Since it is not too think like 100% juices, Santa Cruz Organic Agua Fresca are perfect thirst quenchers.
Oh, I almost forget to mention that they come in traditional glass jars. I another big point for me as I try to avoid plastic containers because of BPA.
