Synopsis

When life is calling, often we need only the space and the support to remember our way.

In Rebirth, you will find real-life stories about what can happen when you make a choice and take a courageous leap. Born from Kate Brenton’s original podcast of the same name, each story is infused with the author’s own experience and wisdom, linking the stories together into one journey.

Let Kate inspire you in your own life as you read about how others listened and learned in order to make embodied changes in theirs- often with resounding success.

The Review

Each chapter, which is approximately 14 pages, features a specific story of an individual who has become a friend of the author. Most of the time, the author starts by sharing how she met the person and then continues on the “ah ha” moment. The incident that became the turning point in their lives.

While each chapter can stand on its own, the author did a good job in making each story flow smoothly to the next. By doing so, the book felt cohesive and interesting enough to keep on reading.

I like how she highlights the main lesson in every story in one sentence. This helps the reader have a more focused reflection.

Since the stories were derived from a podcast, there are certain parts where I wished I’m reading the transcript instead of a third person’s view.

While there are some instances when I find the writing a bit confusing in terms of who says what, overall, this book is full of inspiring messages and stories that are very much relatable. A great read especially for those in their late thirties and older who are contemplating of making a change.
