Book Review: Acts of Forgiveness + A Giveaway

Disclosure: For this review, I received a free copy of the book from the Author. Also, this post contains affiliate links.

When I first received this book, Acts of Forgiveness, I was thinking twice whether I should continue to work on this or not. You see, as someone who was raised by a long line of devout Catholics, topics such as this is still considered taboo. Then again, it’s a memoir. How can I not open the pages and see what it has in stored?

The minute I read the preface (yes, I haven’t even reached the first page of chapter one), the book got my full attention. As I go through the pages, I felt like I was actually reading someone’s personal diary. The emotions are raw, unadulterated and honest.

His choice of words are simple and direct. Just like a friend sharing his story face to face, one can truly sense the storyteller’s thoughts, feelings of confusion and sadness as well as the lightness that comes after all the burdens have been released.

Acts of Forgiveness Book Review

This book is a reminder that life is indeed found inside a gray area. That we are all living in a world full of contradictions. That living a life of faith is not a smooth and straight path. That forgiveness, most importantly self forgiveness is a necessity to achieve peace.

Ted Karpf’s story is a testament that God never abandons nor leaves us. Yes, we all have our challenges, experience betrayal, felt loss, pushed to the limits and even forced to uncomfortable situations. In all these things that happened to us, it is our faith that brings hope that helps us go on.

Yes, Ted’s situation may raise several eyebrows. But underneath that, there are more things one can learn. This book has not only opened my heart to the realities we have right now, it also strengthened my faith and self acceptance.

Curious about this book? Well, since we are all under asked to stay home here in the US, I’m giving away a free copy of the book.

Glad this book offered you solace, encouragement and determination in your journey. That is one of the motivations for me to have written.
