New Year is the perfect time to try new things. If being healthy is part of your resolutions or goals this 2018, now is the perfect time to take a look at some organic products and incorporate them into your lifestyle.
Since many of us have multiple food restrictions, I am so happy to say that the items below are also free of allergens such as wheat/ gluten, dairy, egg, soy, peanuts, fish, shellfish and tree nuts (except coconut).
As you may know, finding organic products that are also allergy friendly can be tricky. But someone has to do it. So, here I am.
Also, I would like to thank our friends from the New Hope community (the people behind Expo East and Expo West) for helping me narrow down my choices.
With all the amazing products that came out in 2017, it was a daunting task to come up with just five. That’s where the New Hope Blogger Box they sent me became handy.
Out of the 20 products I have tried, here are the ones that made it to my list.
Neocell Collagen
At first, I was hesitant to actually use it. Why? Well, let’s just say that I’m a skeptic. Can a powdered collagen really make a difference on one’s skin?
After adding it in my daily morning coffee for a few weeks now, I did notice a difference on my skin. My face in particular is not as dry as I expected this winter. Oh, we really had exceptional cold temperatures here in New Jersey lately.
Tasteless and melts easily, this collagen powder is perfect in smoothies or juices too.
Earth Mama Deodorant
One of the big changes I have done on the later part of 2017 was to ditch my beloved deodorant/antiperspirant. This was huge because I had been using that powder scented product in a blue dispenser since 4th grade.
Since then, I have been trying deodorants that are made with natural ingredients and do not contain any aluminum, talc or hormone disrupting chemicals. That’s why I was really excited to use Earth Mama.
Not only does it contain simple ingredients, it also comes in several scents. My favorite by far is the Bright Citrus while my girls love the lavender.
Jackson’s Honest Purple Heirloom Chips
For years, potato chips have a bad reputation. I remembered when the children were younger. Child #2 who was not a fan of vegetables was asking me to give her a bag of potato chips for snack. When I refused, she innocently said, “Potato is a vegetable right? Aren’t you happy I choose a vegetable for snack?” She was about 3 or 4 years old that time so I’m sure it was an innocent question.
That led me to start looking for answers. I mean, are fried vegetables really that bad? Eventually, I learned that it is not really about the potatoes or the frying process. It was more on the excessive amounts of oil, salt and “other ingredients” that made this snack bad.
That is why I was glad when my children actually liked these chips by Jackson’s Honest. Not only do they use the best ingredients, they were able to actually make it really tasty too. “Just like those well loved ones but healthier.”
Fire Cider
I have been hearing and reading about apple cider vinegar shots and its benefits for over three years. While I always have a big bottle in the pantry, I never really had the guts to take a shot.
After I saw this in the box and asked my instagram friends what they think of it, I was overwhelmed with their messages. This brand seemed like a popular choice.
So, I gathered all my courage and tried it. I have to say, it was not that bad. While there was a slight tingling in my throat when I first took it, (it was probably from the vinegar and habanero pepper) the experience was not bad at all.
I have been taking it for over two weeks now and I noticed a big change on my daily cravings. In fact, it helps keep me feel full longer.
Can’t wait to see the other benefits soon.
Superior Greens by FoodScience Corporation
I have confession to make. Green leafy vegetables are not my thing. While I like it in soups or sandwiches, I don’t normally eat fresh, salads.
Since I vow to let my family have more vegetables this year, this product made it a lot easier. A half scoop which is only 20 calories contains a combination of over 26 fruits and vegetables. Plus, it also has probiotics and soluble fiber.
So, there you have it. My top 5 organic and food allergy friendly new products to try this 2018.
Is there a specific organic product or brand that you like to try soon? Love to hear from you
Have a happy Healthy New Year!
(To facilitate this post, I received the New Hope Blogger Box which contained 20 items to try out.)
