Natural Relief for Motion Sickness and Nausea

(Note: I received this product for free from Moms Meet to use and post my honest opinion. Compensation for this post was provided.)

Do you have a child who suffers from motion sickness? In our family, Child#3 is someone we consider as motion sensitive. Sometimes even a two mile trip can make him dizzy or queasy.

Since I’m not a big fan of unnecessary medications, I often rely on peppermint essential oil to help him have some comfort. This explains why I also have a big stash of resealable gallon bags near his spot in the van. Yup, those bags really work wonders in keeping the car clean.

Anyway, when I was contacted by Moms Meet to try products from a company called Sea-band, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. It’s summer after all and we’ll be having some serious day trips.

If you are not familiar, Sea-Band International has been in the market for more than 20 years now. It’s mission is to provide high quality, all natural personal health solutions. Their unique line of products work with the body’s natural healing systems for safe and effective care with no drugs or side effects. Hello, food allergy friendly products!

I’ve received several products to try from Sea-band. First, is their original wrist band. This FDA approved band is a leading drug-free remedy for nausea caused by morning sickness, motion sickness, chemotherapy and post-operative nausea. Best part, it is reusable too.

How does it work?

The healing process behind Sea-Bands is the ancient Chinese art of Acupressure. The bands work by exerting constant, gentle pressure on the P6 acupressure point of the inner wrist. This stimulation causes the nervous system to release chemicals that help trigger the body’s natural healing abilities.

The Experience

Child#3 was really excited to try the wristband. The blue color really sparked his interest. According to him, the wristband fits really well. He has a tiny wrist and most of the time, bands tend to be really loose on him.

While he felt some pressure due to the white round button, he said that it is really comfortable. He compared it to feeling of wearing a wrist watch. The fabric of the elastic band is soft and doesn’t irritate the skin. It stays cool and lets the skin breath. So even in hot, humid weather, the wristband is okay to be worn.

For the past month, Child#3 has been wearing the wrist band whenever he needed to ride the car. Our longest trip so far was about one and half hours in the highway. He said that the wristband helped him a lot. He was awake during the whole trip and he never felt lightheaded. He enjoyed the feeling so much that he haven’t traveled without wearing his Sea-band. We can’t wait to give it a try next week. We’ll be going to the Jersey Shore and Philadelphia.

Does this mean, we’ll have fewer rest stops? Fingers crossed.

Are you expecting?

Check out the Sea-Band Mama line. Aside from the pretty pink wristbands, there’s also an Aromatherapy rollette to help soothe and calm the tummy and Ginger Lozenges with Folic Acid which helps for fast morning sickness relief. These products are safe for both moms and baby and are all natural.

I just wish I knew about these mommy helpers earlier.

Have you tried any of the Sea-Band products? What do you think?
