Have You Heard of Flavor Your Life EVOO campaign?

For the past few years, extra virgin olive oil has become a staple in almost every home’s pantry. Some choose to buy this rather pricier ingredient for its health benefits. Others for its flavor. Moms, particularly those who have a family member with food allergies like me, rely on EVOO for its pureness (free from top allergen and possible cross contamination).

So, when the news broke about “fake olive oil” in the market, avid consumers were not only disappointed but were also hungry for more information on how to make sure what they are purchasing is really worth it.

In 2021, I was fortunate to attend an educational event where they tackled important facts about extra virgin olive oil. I learned so much from it that when our friends from MomsMeet (the organizer) asked me if I am interested to be a part of the Flavor Your Life campaign, I didn’t hesitate.

What Is Flavor Your Life?

It is a campaign that aims to educate North American consumers about authentic extra virgin olive oil from Europe. Flavor Your Life is empowering consumers by educating them about the rich history and delicious properties that these oils display – and sharing the delicious extra virgin olive oil culinary culture that’s been harvested in Europe for generations.

If you are interested to know more about extra virgin olive oil, their website is the best place to go. They have articles such as how to check for authenticity of EVOO, how European extra virgin olive oil differs and so much more. There’s also a collection of delicious Italian recipes that are very easy to prepare.

Funded by an aid from the European Union, this campaign is solely educational and doesn’t promote a specific brand of extra virgin olive oil. Instead, they highlight brands that pass the strictest certifications which allows consumers to choose what’s best for them.

As part of this campaign, I received a bottle of Le Stagioni D’ Italia 100% Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil to try. Gluten free, vegan and contains no additives and preservatives, this is a food allergy mom’s friend for easy and tasty meals. With hints of artichoke and almond (it doesn’t contain any) that is slightly bitter and spicy, it works well in simple pasta dishes like our favorite Chicken and Pesto Spooky Pasta. Remember, a good quality EVOO really makes a difference. Yes, I do take my extra virgin olive oil seriously.

As of this posting, this brand isn’t available in stores yet. But I was informed that a 500ml bottle retails around $19.99. It is definitely in the higher end of the price range. From experience though, when it comes to EVOO, price and quality are often related. It is an investment.

Are you open to try different brands of EVOO this 2022? Before you grab a bottle, make sure to visit Flavor Your Life. That way, you can make the most of your precious grocery money.

Hugs,
