Delicious Gluten Free Dishes Made Easy with San-J Sauces

One of the challenges of cooking gluten free dishes is finding seasonings that are actually free of hidden additives such as wheat. You read that right. Many spices and sauces unexpectedly contain gluten.

For years, I have heard that the San-J Tamari Sauces brand is gluten free. That it is made of 100% pure soy that is fermented for up to six months with Japanese brewing traditions – no artificial flavors, colors or flavors. Also, because of its higher concentration of soy protein, San-J Tamari has a richer, milder and more complex taste. Aside from being certified gluten free, it is also organic, vegan, Kosher and Non GMO verified.

With all the good things about the brand, I confess, we haven’t personally tried it because of Child#2 and #3’s soy allergy. While I grew up cooking with soy sauce (I’m a Filipino), I had no choice but to refrain from using soy based products in our home.

But since soy sauce runs in my blood, I usually find ways to get my fix outside the house. So, when I was contacted by Moms Meet to review San-J Sauces, I didn’t think twice. I called my “cooking” mom friends for help. That meant, using their kitchen and cooking utensils so that we can create something yummy.

The experience was amazing. Not only did we enjoy the end product, we actually had fun learning about and testing San-J sauces.

Check out this super easy and delicious dish, my mom friend made. Basically, it is chicken breast marinated in San-J Mongolian Sauce for at least one hour and then pan fried. After slicing it thinly, it was served over steamed white rice. The garnishes are shredded lettuce, seared cherry tomatoes, sauteed onions and green peppers and orange zest.

The pretty sauce on the side is just the San-J Mongolian Sauce. Yes the presentation looks fancy but it’s a breeze to make.

We also tried the San-J’s Orange Sauce and Thai Peanut varieties. While the flavors are different, both worked well with chicken and pork too.

I like that a bottle has so many uses – as a marinade, flavor enhancer when brushed during grilling and of course, sauce on the side. It is a great way to add some exotic and complex taste without slaving in the kitchen.

If you can have soy, I’d definitely say that these sauces are good addition to your pantry.
