My Review of Kyo-Dophilus Pro+ Symbiotic Supplement

If there’s one supplement I can’t live without, hands down it will be probiotics. I have taken it every day way before I literally learned to how read. Yes, that long. Back then, I don’t even call it “probiotics” — it’s just this small plastic container filled with a sour milky like drink with a foil on top that my grandma would make sure that I’ll only drink ONE each day.

As I got older and the importance of gut health has become synonymous with multivitamins, I have tried so many brands of probiotics in varied many forms — tablet, capsules, powder, drinks etc. Even as a blogger, I admit I can’t even keep up as new and old companies continue to improve this supplement.

So, when our friends from Moms Meet reached out to me and asked if I will be interested to be one of the first consumers to try Kyo-Dophilus Pro+ Symbiotic, I immediately said Yes. For full disclosure, they sent me a kit that includes a full box of Kyo-Dophilus Pro+ Symbiotic, some pamphlets about gut health and a gratitude journal.

Cool Facts

  • The Kyo-Dophilus Probiotics (its parent company is Wakunaga of America) were first developed nearly 30 years ago.
  • With a goal to share the health benefits of “friendly bacteria” to help maintain one’s overall well being, the company continues to sponsor clinical studies on probiotics and how it can support the digestive and immune systems.
  • While the Pro+ Symbiotic product is brand new, the company has produced several types of probiotic products including a Kids probiotic which my children have taken for years.

What I Think

As I mentioned earlier, I have tried numerous pro and prebiotic products for years. What made Kyo-Dophilus Pro+ Symbiotic stand out to me is that it is in a chewable tablet form. I am not a fan of big capsules or tablets! It also tasted okay. A little chalky but it has a hit of berry flavor which is reminiscent of those small round candies given during Halloween.

I like that it comes in individual serving packets that makes it really convenient. It is also free of soy, gluten, dairy and artificial colors. I’ve emailed them about the presence of other allergens. As of this writing, I haven’t heard from them but I’ll keep you posted once I receive any info.

While I feel that the suggested retail price of $43.99 is a bit on the high end, the fact that the product already contains both pre and pro biotics, I think it seems reasonable. Buying separate jar of probiotic and prebiotic will definitely cost more in the long run.

Lastly, this product also has some added fiber which is good for those who want to up their fiber intake.

Since the product is still not available in stores both brick and mortar and online, I really can’t say anything much how accessible it is. However, other Kyo-Dophilus products are already in Amazon, iherb, vitacost and many local natural health food stores. Hopefully, those retailers will eventually carry the Pro+ Symbiotic.

For now, I can end by saying that Kyo-Dophilus Pro+ Symbiotic is one of my top favorites because it is very easy for me to take (no choking or gagging) and I didn’t get any side effects like bloating, stomach pains or diarrhea during the first few days I took it. It is definitely something to try.

Hugs,
