Getting to Know ShopRite’s Organic Line called Wholesome Pantry

One of the perks of living in New Jersey that I enjoy the most is the accessibility to countless stores. Grocery shopping in particular is very convenient. Believe it or not, there’s always a major retailer or two within a 5 mile radius area. Yup, I’m not joking!

Since there are plenty of stores to choose from, I think the consumers benefit much with the competition in terms of product variety, availability and price. As for customer service, I think this factor is very unpredictable. Plus, there’s that Jersey attitude to consider. So, I’m leaving that one out.

Anyway, if you live here in the Tri-State area or in nearby states such as Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware, I’m pretty sure you are very much familiar with ShopRite. This chain of big grocery stores has been my go to for the past 18 years.

Though ShopRite is already considered a staple here in the East Coast, the company never seems to stop improving. They constantly update their stores to make them look fresh and clean. When my children were small, at some point  I remembered several branches offered free child care while grocery shopping.

For the past few years, they have made gluten free, allergy friendly and organic shopping easier by creating a special section for these products. They even have a resident dietician in that section who is available to answer questions related to health, nutrition and give product suggestions.

If those innovations are not enough, in December 2016, ShopRite launched the Wholesome Pantry line. This is ShopRite’s own brand of USDA certified organic items and “free from” products made with simple, clean ingredients without artificial additives, flavors, colors and preservatives.

Currently, there are hundreds of Wholesome Pantry products throughout the stores. These items can be found in the frozen, dairy, produce, meat etc. They are even oven 35 wholesome snack varieties.

Personally, I’m a big fan of their organic frozen vegetables and fruits. My children love their allergy friendly snacks like the freeze dried Fuji apples fruit crisps and the organic crushed pepper and truffle oil popcorn. They even have pantry staples like almond butter, pasta sauces,  granola and even quinoa.

As a shopper, I found the Wholesome Pantry line one of the better store brands out there. The prices are way cheaper than their branded counterpart but the quality is definitely at par or even better. Plus, ShopRite really stands by their products. Not only is each item properly labelled, they also a toll free number that one can call for questions. Yes, I tried calling and it did work.

So, in your next ShopRite trip, check out the Wholesome Pantry line. Your wallet will thank you for it.
