This weekend, one of the companies I enjoy working with, Goya Foods partners with our friends from Jersey Family Fun to provide meals to families who are currently staying at three Ronald McDonald Houses during the holiday season. If you are not yet aware, the guests of Ronald McDonald Houses are family members of ill children who currently receive much needed medical care at nearby hospitals.
Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic owned company in the United States and happens to be based here in the Garden State is large supporter of community organizations and social initiatives. According to Rafael Toro, Director of Public Relations at Goya Foods, “A warm meal during a difficult time is the least we can do for families in need. Giving back to our community has always been a part of who we are at Goya, and we are happy to provide food to make these dinners special for each family.”Staying true to the theme “Taco Night”, families at the three Ronald McDonald Houses will enjoy a delicious menu of recipes and products provided by Goya Foods, including:
- tacos
- refried beans
- 3 Bean Salad
- quick Pumpkin flan
- poached pears with cinnamon and vanilla
- strawberry smoothies
- coconut water in variety of flavors
The food donation is part of the Goya Gives campaign, a series of annual donations that serves to encourage others to participate in the message of helping those in need.
Jersey Family Fun coordinated the event as part of their 12 Days of Service -Making a Difference during the Holidays Campaign. You can see the other activities they have scheduled here.
The Dinner dates and locations are as follows:
